If you are booking an appointment for a patient under the age of 18 years you must book a ‘CHILD FLU’ slot.

We are only able to book appointments for patients in the following categories:

  • All patients aged 65 years and over

Under 65 years old in one of the following groups:

  • Anyone living with someone who is at high risk from coronavirus (on the NHS shielded patient list)
  • Chronic respiratory disease
  • Chronic heart disease
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Chronic liver disease
  • Chronic neurological disease
  • Diabetes
  • Immunosuppression
  • Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
  • Pregnant women
  • BMI over 40
  • People in long-stay residential or care homes
  • Carers

  • 2 - 18 year olds in any one of the above clinical risk groups – Book ‘CHILD FLU’ Slot

We will also be offering free pneumonia vaccines at the same time, to those who are eligible. Please visit these NHS sites for more information on Pneumonia and Flu vaccinations.

In order to provide a safe environment for you to have your flu vaccine we will be taking the following measures:

  • You will remain outdoors where possible while you are vaccinated

  • Clinicians and staff will wear the appropriate PPE

  • Clinicians will hand sanitise between patients

  • Strict social distancing measures will be in place for patients and staff

  • The length of your appointment is one minute. This minimises the length of time you have to spend with us

  • Appointments are strictly timed and we will not be able to vaccinate you before your appointment time or if you are not in the above group of patients

We need your help to provide a safe, efficient service and ask you to adhere to the following:

  • You attend as close to your appointment time as reasonably possible and no more than five minutes early. You will not be able to wait in the waiting room if you arrive early.

  • Arrive ALONE where possible.

  • Wear a sleeveless top to allow easy access to your whole arm.

If you have an eligible family member or someone you know who is registered with us and may not receive this message, please pass on this latest information.

The following are also eligible for the flu vaccine this year:

  • 50 – 64 year olds who are not in any of the clinical risk groups above will be invited later in the year – we will update you when booking is available for this age group.
  • Primary school children and all year 7 children (secondary school) will be vaccinated in school.

Please keep us updated with your contact details as we may have to contact you with further information prior to your appointment.

Best wishes,
The Doctors
