We have the opportunity to pull together as a community and help those who really need help. Many are lonely, isolated, hungry and scared. Many are worried about money and where to find the next meal. Could you help out and give some time or donate some money to the food bank?
The Torbay Help Hub is now live.
The type of help people may need might be anything from fetching their shopping while they’re housebound, to walking their dogs, to providing a friendly ear and befriending over the phone. People of all ages are in need of help, and people from all walks of life are answering the call.

The Crafty Fox will be providing a network of local volunteers helping those self isolating to get some shopping, medication, dog walking etc.

Home isn’t always a safe place. Schools closing could put some children at greater risk of abuse and neglect. If you’re worried about a child or young person, or if you notice that something just doesn’t seem right, contact them. You can talk to their helpline team who offer free support and guidance on 0808 800 5000 (8am-10pm Mon-Fri / 9am-6pm weekends) or you can email email@example.com 24/7. Click here for a short video.
For people who have received a letter to say you should be "shielded" as you are "extermely vulnerable" to Covid-19. Once referred by your GP or another professional, you can call 0808 196 3646 between 8am - 8pm for help with tasks such as collecting shopping and prescribed medicines or driving patients to medical appointments.
If you have to stay at home because of Coronavirus, this is the isolation note for your employer.
